User Role templates are a fast and easy way to spin up user permissions for new projects and productions.
In this article:
Step 1: Create a User Role That Will Be Your Template
For instructions on creating user roles see these articles:
Any user role can be made into a template, but when setting up your CORE system, we recommend defining a base set of user roles that you can use as templates.
These roles should be named Template_Role Description.
The Role Info page should be complete.
3. If applicable, View and Edit Access Rules should be created, generically named, and the tags selected. Conditions and values will be empty until applied to an actual production or business group.
4. A User Access Rule should be created with its conditions left empty to be added on creation.
Step 2: Save That User Role to Your User Role Templates Folder
Select the role or roles you want to save to your own user role templates.
Open the role
Select the save icon
Add or rename the template to your individual templates folder
Save the template
It'll now be listed in your personal templates folder.
Step 3: Load a Template as a New Role and Update For Your New Role
When ready to create a new role from template:
Select the +New User Role button
Go to your user roles template folder
Select the template you want to use
The template will populate the settings and rules into the new role
Give the new role a name, such as:
Production Name_Dept_Inbox Uploader
Project Name_Inbox Uploader
Dept_Asset Manager (If your CORE is for one project or company)
Save it
