Setup, Login, Navigation, and Content Review

Review assets that have been shared with you or your creative executive. Below is a full app guide:

Setup Instructions

PLEASE NOTE: To login to iOS app, first go to your computer or phone’s web browser, accept your invitation and set up your account on CORE. If required, connect your MFA Authenticator prior to using the mobile app. Your user profile must also be enabled for Mobile access, if you have questions about your access please reach out to your system administrator.

Step 1 - Downloading the App

  1. Go to the App Store (iOS) ​

  2. Search for Core Mobile by Sohonet

  3. Tap "Download" or "Install" to get the app on your device.

System Requirements

  • iOS version: 12.0 or later

  • Internet connection

Step 2 - Add Your Site & Login Credentials

  1. Open the app on your device.

  2. Enter the site name provided by your Administrator. After the first time, the Site Name will auto-populate.

  3. Select Next

  4. Enter your username and password in the respective fields.

  5. Tap the "Login" button.

Step 3 - Enable Face ID or Touch ID

On first time Login, you have the option to enable biometrics on your device. Most devices have Face ID, some older devices use Touch ID. Enable it.

Step 4 (Optional) - Complete MFA Login

  1. Where MFA has been enabled, enter your MFA credentials.

  2. Select Done.

You'll be directed to the main page of the app.


Log In (After Setup)

When you return to the CORE Mobile App, just enter your login credentials or use Face ID to login.


Reset Password

  • If you’ve forgotten your password, tap the "Forgot Password?" link on the login screen.

  • Follow the instructions to reset your password via email.


Navigate the App

The App opens to your Package Inbox. From here, users can view and search for Packages sent to them. In some cases, depending on their permissions, users can share package content and store offline for viewing when wifi is not available.

Hamburger Menu

The hamburger menu allows you to filter your Inbox by project or navigate to other parts of your inbox, such as Unread, Favorites, or Sent.

Search Bar

Select the search bar to open additional search filters:

Packages

Tap on a package name to open the package. Tap on the package icon for additional actions.

Package details at the Inbox level show you the following:

  1. Package Name

  2. Package Sender

  3. Folder Icon - Total number of assets for your review

  4. Users Icon - Total number of users on the package

  5. Package Date - Date Package was sent

  6. Store offline Icon - Download the content within the app for offline viewing

Archive Packages by swiping left to Archive and Right to Favorite packages

Store a Package for Offline Review

If you have permission, you'll see an icon to download content offline

  • Click the Download icon on the package to initiate the offline download

  • Confirm

Select Package(s) by Tapping on its Icon

When you select a package or multiple packages via their icon(s), you have 4 options:

  1. Select all - Select all packages

  2. Store Offline - Download packages within the app for offline review

  3. Share - Share a Package

  4. Delete - Delete Package

Share a Package

  1. Tap on the package icon on the left of the package name

  2. Then select the Share icon from the menu at the top of the screen

  3. Choose your package type

  4. Enter name of recipient(s)

  5. Select your Download settings

  6. Select your Share settings

  7. Enter a message

  8. Send


Offline Content

Offline Content shows packages downloaded for offline review. These packages are available for review when no internet or cellular connection is available.

Remove Offline Content

  • Delete offline content from your device by selecting the checkmark on the package

  • Confirm by selecting Remove


User Account

Access the following from your Profile page:

  • Light Mode - Toggle on/off Light Mode

  • Logout

  • What’s New - Access the latest app updates here

  • Help Center - Visit the Help Center

  • Send app feedback

  • Rate the app


Reviewing Content

Select a package to review its assets. If autoplay is enabled, assets will play after each other.

Reviewing Dailies and Cuts

If you receive a package that’s been sent as an Autoplay Package, it will immediately open to the first video in the package and will then cycle through each file until the end.

Top of Player Features

Back Arrow / Close a Package

Use the back arrow at the top left of the player to navigate back to the inbox.

  • Clicking back once will take you to the package level view.

  • Clicking a second time will return you to the Inbox.

Package Level View

Comment Toggle

This turns on your ability to comment and enables you to review comments from others for the asset that's currently active in the player.

File Info

Select info to display important metadata or other information related to the asset

Asset Player Controls

Basic elements in Asset Viewer

When you play a video in the Core Mobile App, it opens in a player with the following controls:

  • Back arrow - Backs out of the Asset Player

  • Play - Toggles Play button

  • Auto Playlist Toggle - Enable this feature to allow assets to play after each other

  • Video Scrubber - Drag your finger to the point in the clip you wish to play. A preview thumbnail will appear to guide your selection

  • Player Timecode - Shows where in video you are currently at and videos total runtime or by frame

  • Playlist assets - 1st asset will play in the player

  • Settings menu

    • Playback Speed - Enables user to watch video at half, regular, double speed

    • VR 360 - Not available at this time

    • Frame Stepping - When toggled, you can step frame by frame on the player

    • Pin Timecode - When toggled, timecode will be pinned to the bottom right of the screen

Note that different file types will have different menu options on the player.

Commenting on Assets

To comment on assets, turn on the comments toggle in the asset player and leave your notes in the commenting field at the bottom of the screen.

Review Assets at the Package Level

To view all of the assets at the package level, tap the back arrow in the player to go the the package view.

Change Package Display

To change the layout of the package display, go to the package's 3 dot ellipses menu.

Package Options

  • Grid View- By default this view shows the asset in a grid layout

  • List View - Displays the assets in list form

  • No Text View - Displays the assets in grid view without text names embedded in the frame

  • Group View - Breaks up the Files in the Package according to the Asset Groups they came from.

  • Store for Offline - This will store the package files for offline storage

  • Package Details - This will display relevant package details

Choose your preferred package view.

View Packages in Group Mode

Turning on Group Mode in a Package, breaks up the Files in the Package according to the Asset Groups they came from.

Commenting in Package View

Package Comments

To comment at the package level,

  • Select the Comments Tab

  • Add your message in the comments box and send

Reply to Asset Comments

At the package level,

  1. Select Reply on an existing asset comment OR

  2. Open the asset you want to comment on and leave a comment from the asset player.

It is also possible to get to the comments panel when in the asset player view by clicking on the comments icon

View & Add Users on Package

To view the users who received and are commenting on this package select "# people" at the package level.

There you can also add people to the current package and discussion. When you do, they'll be added as a view only user with no other permissions, though they can comment on the package.
