Annotations Overview

All annotations in CORE must be associated with a comment. So you create your markup, add a comment, and send. The annotation will be posted to the Discussion / comment thread, and all recipients will be notified of your annotation.

Commenting Overview

You can comment on a package or file within a package discussion. You can also comment on an asset or asset group, creating a new discussion with your comment.

Comments must be associated with a Discussion or Package, so there are no public comments on a file or set of files.

Comments in Package

In a package, to comment on the entire package or multiple files:

  1. Add your comment to in the Discussion side panel at the bottom

  2. Send.

  3. The comment will be sent to everyone on the package.

In a package, to comment on and individual file:

  1. Select the file you want to comment on.

  2. Add your comment.

  3. Send.

  4. The comment will be sent to everyone on the package.

If the side panel isn’t open for whatever reason,

  1. Select the Discussions icon if it’s not selected.

  2. Select the Discussion you want your to comment to be associated with OR select New Discussion, if this is the first comment in this Discussion. If it’s new, select the discussion recipients.

  3. Then comment on your file.

  4. Send.

Unless a discussion is active, CORE by default prompts you to create new discussion. If you meant to send your comment to an existing thread, just open the side panel to the discussion and then add your comment.

Comment on a File or Asset Group From File Search

If there are Discussions you're already on, select the Discussion in the Discussion Panel to add a new comment for the file or group.

If you want to create a new Discussion / comment thread on a file or asset group:

  2. Create a New Discussion.

  3. Add Recipients.

  4. Send.

  5. Recipients will be notified of your comments and a new Discussion thread is created.

Tagging individual people in comments

CORE allows you to tag individual people in comments by typing @ followed by their name. This will trigger a notification letting them know they were mentioned in a given comment.

When tagging someone in a Package they were not part of, they will be added as viewer for the whole package and they will be able to comment on it.

For more details, see How to Tag Users in Comments.
