In this article, we'll cover how to annotate a file.

File Annotations on a Package

To annotate a file within a package

  1. Select a file you'd like to annotate and open it in Asset Viewer

  2. Click on the Annotation brush icon in bottom left corner of the Asset Viewer

  3. Annotation tools panel will appear on the left side

  4. Using the provided tools, make your annotations on the file

  5. Add a comment to be associated with the annotation or just hit Send in the comment field.

File Annotations in File Search

To make annotations on a file from File Search where you have an existing Discussion,

  1. Open your file

  2. Go to the Discussions panel

  3. Select the discussion you want to add the annotation to

  4. Follow the same instructions as above

To make annotations on a file in File Search where you intend to create a new discussion,

  1. Go to the file

  2. Follow the annotation instructions above

  3. When you Send your annotation it will prompt the New Discussion pop up

  4. Add your subject, recipients, and any message

  5. Send

  6. Your annotations are now saved and will appear in the Discussion panel.
