Core 7.4 Release Notes

Updated today

This release delivers a mix of stability improvements and a new preview feature. Teams will notice smoother collaboration, stronger security, and fewer workflow interruptions, while clients can optionally test Visitor Links—a new way to securely share with external recipients.

Bug Fixes & Improvements

  • Smarter Commenting in Packages
Comments made while the side panel is closed now correctly attach to the active package discussion—no more isolated threads.

  • Cleaner Discussion Creation
The legacy “Private” toggle has been removed from the New Discussion modal, reducing confusion since all Discussions are private.

  • More Accurate Action Logs
Action logging now captures all categorize and tag removal events, ensuring better visibility.

  • Smoother Mobile Linking
Opening Core links in Safari on iPhone now behaves as expected—no more endless redirects to the App Store.

  • Stronger PDF Protections
Watermarked PDFs respect “no print” restrictions, providing better security and compliance.

  • Improved Search Filters Display
The filter pane now properly displays production names, even when the pane is narrow or the list is short.

  • Consistent Production Dropdown
The Inbox production dropdown now fits more readily above the Inbox folders and the expanded dropdown stays visible, regardless of configuration settings.

  • Cleaner List Mode Display
Unnecessary Quick Share and folder string clutter no longer appears in List Mode, keeping views clear and focused.

  • Resizable Columns Restored in List View
Users can now freely expand the Name column in List View, making it easier to work with long file names without truncation.

  • Reliable Automatic Logouts
For specific client sites, session timeouts once again log users out as expected, ensuring accounts remain secure when inactive.

  • Smooth Loading of Large Packages
List View now properly loads more than 40 files without stalling, so teams can review large packages without interruption.

  • Streamlined Share Panel Layout
The package type selector now defaults to a dropdown, consolidating real estate and leaving more space for previewing settings on smaller screens.

New Feature (Opt-In Preview): Visitor Links (POC 1)

We’re introducing Visitor Links Phase 1 as a Proof of Concept, available for clients who wish to test it. This feature is off by default and can be enabled by request.

What it does:

  • Adds a new package type for sharing with external recipients.

  • Provides recipients with a simplified playback experience through a lightweight guest portal.

  • Includes baseline security: session timeouts and package expiration dates.

What’s not included yet (coming in POC 2+):

  • Commenting and collaboration in the guest portal

  • Approvals (thumbs up, status)

  • Inbox filtering and visibility for Visitor Links

  • Ability for senders to send links to themselves

  • Security features including link limits, a maximum link window, and 48-hour link refresh requirement.

🔍 Visitor Links is intended as a preview. Feedback from early testers will directly shape future phases, which will expand collaboration features and strengthen security options. For users who are testing Visitor Links, a more detailed preview will be provided.
