CORE users can keep re-categorizing efforts to a minimum by taking advantage of uploading new versions of the file. When you upload a new version, you can immediately update its status and the earlier file version, as well as automatically categorize it and link the new version to the original file. The original file is retained.

Upload New Versions
In this image, we see one file already uploaded and categorized.
If we click on the asset, we can see the upload button on the upper right. Click that button and select Upload New VERSION. In this example, we'll use a new file named french-cameo02.jpg.
On the next screen you have the option to change the status tags on the older file and the new one. Make your selections, and then click submit.
If you aren't using statuses to help manage your file versions, click on the X to close out of the status popup.
The additional version will be automatically categorized to the same asset group as the original. If you applied or updated statuses, you see those changes as color bars on the thumbnails.
Viewing Versions
In addition to viewing versions in the asset group, users can click the versions button on right panel of any asset. This menu shows two more versions. Also, there is an upload button here specifically for the upload new versions workflow.
Users viewing the original in packages will also have access to the other versions via this button.
Replacing Old Versions in Packages
If you wish to replace a file within a package, the process is nearly the same as above.
Do the following:
Go to your sent box (or inbox if self-share) and find the package.
Select the asset you wish to replace with a newer version.
Just as in file search, click the upload button in the upper right.
Select Upload New Version.
The next screen will give you the option to change tags, just as before, but with one important difference. There is a switch that for Replace File In Package on the lower left.
This will replace the file in the package, and any users shared on the package will see the new file when they open it, even if they previously examined the first.
Note: If you shared the original file in a package, and uploaded other versions from File Search, the package will contain the original file.
