How to Manually Apply Forensic Watermarking to an Asset
Updated over 6 months ago

Whether you're in File Search, an Asset Group, a Package, or have an open asset, the manual forensic watermarking process is the same.

Tips:

  1. If the asset already has a shield on it, it means a forensic watermark has already been applied to it.

  2. At this time, forensic watermarks can only be applied to video assets.

  3. Forensic watermarks can only be applied to videos 5 minutes in length or longer.

  4. To use forensic watermarking, your company must have a forensic license and forensic watermarking enabled on its site. If forensic watermarking is not available, the below mentioned menu selections will be unavailable.

To add a forensic watermark to an individual asset or file:

From File Search, within an Asset Group, or in a Package

  1. From the Thumbnail view, click on the three-dot More menu on the thumbnail of the asset to be forensically watermarked.

  2. Click on "Process Forensic".

  3. Once you hit "Process Forensic", the thumbnail will show "Pending Forensic". It will also show the forensic shield icon which will be grayed out until the forensic watermark is complete:

Depending on the size of the file, processing time will take the time it took to process the file during upload.

Once the forensic watermark has completed processing and been applied to your asset, you'll see the dark forensic shield on the thumbnail.

From an Open Asset

  1. In an open asset, go to the top right three-dot More menu, and select Process Forensic

  2. You'll receive a confirmation message that the forensic watermark is being applied, and a light blue shield will appear on the file in the playlist below.

  3. When the file is done processing it will appear as dark gray in the playlist below.

To add forensic watermarks to multiple assets at once:

From File Search

  1. In File Search, select the checkbox on the assets you want watermarked

  2. Go to the action menu at the top right, and select Process Forensic

  3. Pending forensic will appear on the selected assets' thumbnails as described above, and a dark shield will appear once processing is completed.

From an Asset Group or a Package

  1. In an Asset Group, or a Package, select the checkbox on the assets you want watermarked

  2. Go to the top right three-dot More menu, and select Process Forensic

  3. Pending forensic will appear on the selected assets' thumbnails as described above, and a dark shield will appear once processing is completed.
