CORE Release Notes Version 7 Rollup

RELEASE SUMMARY
Version 7 Rollup is a generally available major release of CORE which includes system improvements and new capabilities across all aspects of the product from improved Video Processing Support to Player and Package Sharing enhancements and expanded integration with 3rd party platforms such as Box and Okta. This release also includes a significant number of bug fixes, stability and performance enhancements to the platform. Please review this document for additional details about this release.
Version 7 Rollup will be labeled v7.1 and includes all features, updates and bug fixes from 7.0, 7.0.1, 7.1, 7.1.1, 7.1.2, & 7.1.3.
NEW FEATURES AND CAPABILITIES
1. VIEWER/PLAYER ENHANCEMENTS
Several New enhancements have been made to the Viewer / Player experience
Remove HTML options from the under-asset comment bar. Previously, we added HTML commenting, but feedback from many users was that the under-file commenting in the player was too complicated with HTML and other controls. So we made it simpler.
New Comments Default as New Discussions. If you’re in an asset in File Search or in a Package with several associated discussions, and no discussion is active, CORE automatically treats this as a new comment within a new discussion where you can decide who to send it to.
Resize Annotation Text Box. You can now resize the positional annotation text box.
Hover-Text on Thumbnails. We have added hover-text over thumbnails in the playlist to show long filenames.
Player now plays Raw CR3 format files.
Annotation thumbnails are removed from individual comments. This displays more comments and improves site performance. Now, instead of selecting the thumbnail, select the annotation icon to jump to that note on the file.
Highlighted Comment and File in the Package View. Now, when a file comment is selected in the right panel, the referenced file(s) will be highlighted in the package view
2. MEDIA PROCESSING ENHANCEMENTS
Hybrik Support. We’ve added Hybrik (a Dolby company) as our primary transcoding service. Hybrik manages the transcoding and processing of video files. It helps to improve the user experience and the range of video and audio files supported for audio and video media processing. By moving to Hybrik, CORE will have robust, managed, and secure processing of critical video files at scale. In other words, everything will work the same as it always had - with even more reliability and speed. Hybrik in future releases will allow us to deliver more video formats, features, and options.

Forensic Support for Hybrik. This release also introduces the support of forensic watermarking utilizing Hybrik transcoding. For those that have forensic watermarking licensed and enabled, this process will be transparent and be processed in the background. No additional user actions need to be taken. 3. PACKAGE SHARING ENHANCEMENTS
Collaborating through packages of files and sharing are key components of the CORE platform. Several new enhancements have been added to improve the package sharing experience.
You can now use “@mention” inside of a Comment to quickly add a user to a comment thread. Simply type the at “@” symbol and start typing the user’s name to make sure they’re added to the existing discussion.
Timestamps included on Inbox Packages - We’ve added timestamps, along with the already existing date stamps, to all of your inbox packages reflecting latest comments on a package.
Approval Packages - We’ve also added timestamps next to the date in the thumbs-up/down approval panel history for better tracking.
Better understand your Package Share Settings - Tooltips have been added to the summary settings area on the share panel. Just hover over one of the listed checkmarks for the details.
4. CREATE NEW USERS DURING A PACKAGE SHARE
Approved users (via your User Role) can share a package directly to an external email address. In other words, the recipient does not have to be a pre-setup, authenticated CORE user.
Upon sending, that user is set up in CORE with a default, limited, Inbox-Only role called Create Via Add, and must complete the signup to view content. The user can later be moved to another role, or managed and expired like any other CORE user. Please refer to How to Share Packages With Users Outside of CORE.
Admins have control to manage who can create new users via email shares. See Granular Permission Settings in our Overview of User Roles.
The package share form can now support and remember public emails.
A new user form is presented to the invited user at login when someone is added by email share.
The user will receive a combination invite and package share email notification that directs them to this new login page
The login page currently defaults with Company, Department, and Position information generated from the sender user and system. In the forthcoming update, these fields will each be auto-populated with Added Via Email. The user can then be provisioned by a Role Manager or Admin user to a different role.
5. SYNC REVIEW ENHANCEMENTS
Several new enhancements have been added to the Sync Review process
Start or join a sync review session from any package type. In the package, you must toggle on “Review mode” first.
Then “Start Sync”.
Host switching has been added to Sync reviews, too, so now the presenting user can hand off the reins to any other user in the session. Similar to other conference tools, there can only be one host, but there’s no limit to how many times the host role can be switched amongst people during the session.

6. FILE SEARCH ENHANCEMENTS
New Advanced Search Functionality. There is now an Advanced Search option! Refine your search quickly and accurately to get the right result(s) that you’re after.
Right Click Functionality on Browse Tags, Asset Groups, Packages, and Files. File and Tag Selection - You can now Right Click in File Search and on Asset Groups, Packages and Files. The options vary on your permission levels.
Within the Right Click menu, Get URL link for an Asset Group or File. Just right click on an Asset Group file path or on a file thumbnail or filename, and select Get URL link. Users with View or Edit permissions to access that file or group of assets will be able to open the link.
Hyperlinked URLs are now supported in Asset Details tag fields. - Now you can add websites to your Asset Detail fields, just be sure to include the http:// or https:// at the front in order for it to link out.
7. UPLOADING & TAGGING UPDATES
Statuses can be used to label ‘versions’
For users who are updating individual files, it’s now easier to manage your file versions. When the older file is open in the Player, select upload.
We now present a dialog box to allow you to update the statuses of the previous file (on the left) and new file (on the right) together.
When you submit status changes, the new file will appear in the same asset group as the older file and the updated status will be visible on both files’ thumbnails.
If you’re not using Statuses, just hit “Submit” to upload the file to the same asset group.

Tags can be extracted from file names on upload
The first iteration of CORE’s bulk tagging features is now available. Leveraging file names during upload, this advanced feature adds the ability to parse a naming convention, using your file name structure as a way to instantly tag files; adding value and findability for the entire organization.
The parser populates associated tags for tag groups like File, Status, Production or other custom tag groups.
It’s an excellent tool for a bulk upload to one asset group that has different associated tags, like Sequences and Shots or Characters or Locations.
To use, upload a file(s) and turn on the “process naming convention” toggle
Create a parser, or select one of your pre-set options. Instructions below the image.
When creating a new one, type the first tag name and options will auto-fill.
Enter all the tags in the order you want them parsed.
Choose the separator (dash, underline, space).
The tags will be broken out by this separator.
If you have mixed separators, it will differentiate the tags by the chosen separator.
Save it.
You'll return to your file(s) upload. Click the Process button, and see the tags applied to the file(s). Note that tags that have issues will show in red.
Continue with the rest of your tagging, including your structural tags, and submit.
These tags are now applied to every file you uploaded, making them findable, searchable, and usable throughout the organization.

Special Note: The parser does not yet populate Structural tags. In addition, any child or nested fields also require their parent fields to be manually selected or included in the parser in order to be captured. Without the parent tag, the child tags will not populate.
8. DOWNLOADING UPDATES
Generate Your Own Zip Files on Download - Zip files for a download are no longer automatically generated. This is a relatively small change, but it’s important because the behavior changes for users, and because it alleviates a lot of undue strain on the system by not generating unneeded files and storing them.
To create your zip file, go to the Download Details page on your download and select the Zip option.
Download to Box. Export your files to Box from CORE via downloading. See section below.
9. INTEGRATION ENHANCEMENTS

This is not an automatic sync, but rather a manual, but powerful, workflow.
To export to Box, follow the standard download process:
In a file, asset group, or package view, select the “download” icon in the top bar.
There are now options to select between your desktop and Box. This view will vary based on your role and access level, but assuming you can export to Box then you can select that option.
Like with any standard download, choose watermark settings (again, these may vary), and select the Download button.
The file(s) will save out to your connected Box.com account.

10. LIVE ROOMS ENHANCEMENTS
Admins can now see all live rooms users have created and been invited to in the system by selecting a user.
When you create a live room, you can now add people via user lists.
As a new security measure, Live Room users can now standby to join a Live Room in a Waiting Room where the Room Admins approve or deny their entry. Waiting Rooms are an optional setting when Admins create the room.
In video conferencing, we now highlight the speaker user when they’re talking.
Your personal camera view in video conferencing is now mirrored. This is how most people expect to see themselves. The view is not-mirrored to the other conference attendees.
During a screen share, the room now shows only one row of people along the top. You can scroll left or right to see other users on the call.
In the main Live Rooms page, active Live Rooms now show a green icon to signal when the room is in use with either a live camera feed or a video conference.
We have also added the option for an admin or room manager to delete a user from the room or just kick them out from the active session.
With Chat! Now you can communicate with other attendees without making noise in a new chat panel. Chats are visible to everyone and disappear when the session closes.
11. USER MANAGEMENT ENHANCEMENTS
Several new enhancements have been added for User Role and User Administration
Usernames can now include the '@' special character (in other words, email addresses).
In the user profile, the user’s 'Activity' tab is now called 'History'. This is to be more consistent with labeling across the application.
The user profile also now offers a notes field. This can be used to capture personal or alternate emails, and other helpful information.
In User Roles, the History tab now displays any and all admin actions for the role.
User Role overrides are now additive, so new rules or permissions given to a user via overrides is in addition to the permissions already provided by their assigned User Role.
Go to a Users Profile from the User Roles "Members" tab - Individual users are now selectable and will redirect you to their profile page under Manage Users
12. ADMIN-SPECIFIC IMPROVEMENTS
Grant Users Access. Admins can now give users and user roles access to productions and departments or asset groups within a production through the new Right Click functionality. Access rules are automatically generated using the filepath of the selected tags and added to the role -- or as an override for individual users.
Brand Logo Configuration. The displayed client logo in CORE’s upper left corner is now configurable by role and even by a single user profile. If you have multiple brands or sub-brands within your organization, you can now set up CORE so that each role/user sees their expected branding in the top left of the app. Additionally, a sitewide config has been added. Please contact support for more details.
Tag Structure Updates. Ability to drag and drop the order of descriptive tags.
Reset Password Update. Admins can now reset passwords on accounts with special characters.
SCIM Provisioning Support with Okta - This release supports SCIM (System for Cross-domain Identity Management) with Okta. Okta Users can be automatically provisioned into roles within CORE to streamline the onboarding and administrative process. For additional information on SCIM provisioning in your environment please contact support.
Configurable Zip File Size Limits. There are no limits to the size of zips being downloaded. However, if you're seeing consistent issues with Zip downloads, or users regularly trying to download Zips of several hundred gigabytes in size, you can set the size limit of a Zip created by CORE for download.
To do so, reach out to [email protected] or talk to your account rep.
Also, this does not affect zip files that were uploaded to the system as zips.
13. FIXED BUGS AND USABILITY ISSUES
