Core 7.5.3 Release Notes

SSO Onboarding Enhancements, Infrastructure Improvements

This release delivers major improvements to SSO onboarding, user management, and platform reliability. Highlights include a new onboarding experience for SSO users, enhanced administrator notifications, improvements to user profile editing and synchronization, framework modernization, and numerous fixes addressing authentication, downloads, watermark processing, UI behavior, and stability.

SSO & User Onboarding

  • Welcome experience for new SSO users – Introduced a landing page that welcomes newly created SSO Default users, helping guide first-time users through getting started with Core.

  • Welcome experience for Inbox-only users – Added a guided welcome experience for newly created Inbox-only users to improve initial navigation and onboarding.

  • Admin notifications for new SSO users – Administrators are now notified whenever a new SSO Default user is created, making it easier to review and assign appropriate permissions.

  • User notifications for permission changes – SSO users now receive a notification when an administrator updates their role or permissions.

Identity & SSO Improvements

  • Improved Okta synchronization – User profile updates from Okta no longer overwrite existing future account expiration dates while continuing to synchronize profile changes correctly.

  • SSO entity creation controls – Enhanced enforcement of configuration settings governing automatic creation of companies, departments, and positions during SSO synchronization.

  • Position synchronization accuracy – Improved SSO position assignment to correctly respect department relationships when matching positions.

User Management

  • User creation reliability – Resolved an issue that could cause user creation to fail with a server error.

  • Improved profile editing workflow – User settings are now updated only after the primary profile update completes successfully, reducing inconsistent save behavior.

  • (Known Issue) Profile save notifications – Misleading save and cancel notifications appear when saving changes to aSSO user profiles. A "Nothing to Save" prompt appears at the top first, followed immediately by a second prompt stating "Rule changes have been saved." Changes are actually saved. The messaging is incorrect. A fix for this is coming in the next release.

User Experience

  • Persistent Browse panel resizing – Fixed an issue where the File Search Browse panel displayed an error during resizing and failed to retain the selected width.

  • Modernized tooltips – Replaced legacy tooltips with Material-based tooltips that align with current Sohonet design guidelines.

File Management

  • Package download reliability – Fixed download issues affecting packages containing deleted files.

  • PDF watermark processing – Improved watermark generation by properly handling source files stored in Glacier before processing.

Security & Authentication

  • Auto logout reliability – Improved session timeout behavior to provide more consistent automatic logout functionality.

Platform & Technology

  • UI Infrastructure upgrade – Upgraded the application's UI framework along with related dependencies, improving maintainability, compatibility, and long-term platform support.

Overall Improvements

This release focuses on making SSO onboarding more intuitive, improving administrator visibility into new users, strengthening identity synchronization, modernizing the user interface, and resolving several stability and reliability issues across the platform.
