Core 7.5.4 Release Notes

Profile & Identity Management Improvements, Security Strengthening, and Bug Fixes

Summary

This release focuses on improving identity management, strengthening security, refining user administration, and resolving a number of workflow issues affecting uploads, downloads, metadata, and day-to-day usability. These updates deliver a more reliable experience across authentication, asset management, and common user workflows.

Identity & Authentication

  • Greater flexibility for SSO configuration – Identity Provider settings can now be updated directly within Core, making it easier for administrators to maintain and adjust SSO configurations as identity providers evolve.

  • Improved SSO session reliability – Resolved an issue that could prevent users from successfully signing in via SSO when initiating a new login while another Core session was already active in the same browser.

  • QR code login improvements for Apple TV – Fixed an issue that prevented QR code authentication from working correctly in the Apple TV application.

User Administration & Security

  • Additional protection for standard user profiles – Standard users can no longer modify administrative profile settings such as organization details, account expiration, activation settings, and other administrator-managed attributes. This helps preserve security while still allowing authorized administrators and user managers to manage user accounts where appropriate.

  • Improved profile editing experience – Refined profile notifications and save behavior to eliminate confusing or misleading messages when saving, cancelling changes, or when no updates have been made.

  • Security hardening – Addressed potential cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerabilities to further strengthen platform security.

  • Custom watermark enhancements – Added support for customer-specific watermarking requirements to provide additional flexibility for protected content.

Asset Management & Metadata

  • More reliable metadata assignment during uploads – Fixed an issue where metadata values were not automatically applied during browser-based uploads.

  • Improved PDF processing – Resolved an issue that prevented certain PDF files containing special characters in their metadata from processing successfully.

  • Tag editing reliability – Fixed an issue that could prevent metadata tags from being edited successfully.

  • Improved asset categorization workflow – Resolved issues during consecutive uploads where the asset category hierarchy could become incorrectly ordered, allowing users to continue categorizing new uploads without interruption.

Transfers & Downloads

  • More reliable download processing – Improved download job handling to prevent duplicate download requests and reduce cases where downloads could remain stuck or report incorrect progress.

User Experience & Stability

  • Improved handling of invalid URLs – Core now responds more gracefully when an invalid URL is entered, preventing users from becoming stuck on an unusable page.

  • Resolved Inbox sharing panel issue – Fixed an issue where closing the reshare panel from the Inbox could leave the page unresponsive until refreshed.
