Your CORE Inbox: UI Clean Up & Filters Review
The inbox is a bit tidier now. The message rows are shorter and have less space in-between, showing more on your screen. Colors are simpler and show more contrast – dark is darker, and light is lighter. And the view is responsive to adapt from very large screens down to small ones (even your iPad). An advanced search is planned for the next major upgrade, until then, combine filters to improve results.

Package Types Legend For Reference
Standard Opens to a view of all files with the comment panel enabled. Everyone on the share can collaborate. If simple viewer is on, recipients will launch into a simple file player with no extra clutter. Comments and annotations are allowed. Feedback captured at both package and file level. Fellow recipients are viewable.
Light blue indicates the selected package type in the Share Panel. | Autoplay Takes the recipient directly into the player with the first file open. Recipients are hidden by default, and simple viewer is on by default. No comments allowed. Great for dailies and screeners | Approval Send an approval request for a group’s thumbs up/down feedback or share with a single decision maker so they can make their selects.
Thumbs up/down request opens to a view of all files with the approval panel enabled. Everyone on the share can collaborate, but each person can only see approvals based on their role.

Enhancements to Recipients Panel
We’ve made it easier in the Recipients Panel to see exactly what’s happened with each share via a clean summary view.
Enhancements to Discussions Panel
We’ve also refined the options for the discussion panel and commenting, and added more tools to make your package sharing simpler.

For more information about the Discussion Panel, go to Discussion Panel: View All Discussions and Comment Threads Associated With a Package or File.
Packages: Commenting and Annotations
New Commenting Bar and Functions
As you’ve seen, we’ve been working on cleaning up the commenting design. It’s now easier to reply to a specific comment or even delete one of your comments (or someone else’s if your rights allow it).
Also note that in the Player, the comment field is now under the Player screen and accessible in fullscreen mode.
New On-Screen Positional and Ranged Annotations
Communicating over assets is what CORE is all about. The following updates will make those comms faster and more accurate.

Packages: Use Drag and Drop to Upload and Reorder Packages
Upload with Drag and Drop into Asset Groups
If you didn’t know about this function in 6.5, you can save time categorizing files by dragging and dropping files into an existing Asset Group. Just hover the files over the space and a Drop Files Here boundary should appear in that space. For more specific instructions, go to the article Upload Files in CORE.
Drag and Drop Files into Packages
New to 6.6, you can now also drag and drop files directly into existing Packages.
Select image to zoom.
Drag and Drop to Reorder Files Within Packages
We’ve expanded the drag and drop feature to enable reordering your existing packages while in thumbnail mode.
Packages: Request Approvals
In addition to thumbs up / down approvals, you can now also request specific status approvals on a package which can support workflows and provide context to the approval.
Select image to zoom.
Packages: Approve Packages on Request
As the package recipient, open the first file and progress through each one applying your status selection and notes. When finished, select Approvals Complete and Send to let the sender know you’ve responded to their approval request.

Collaborate with Review Mode Packages
Engage your team in a collaboration session via Review package sharing. With a hosted Review package, teams can simultaneously view content from anywhere with their own watermark using your preferred meeting tool. This feature is ideal for real-time reviews and approvals with partners and clients.
Guided by a host, a Review package ensures everyone is looking at the same materials at the same time.
Currently there is no host switching. If multiple users need to share, join your phone call or video conferencing session and move from one Review package to the next as decided by the team in your meeting.
Send a Review Package
Create and share a new package. Select Sync Review as the Package Type.
Set a meeting time for your team to open it together or just hop on a call to review the materials.
Sender / Host - Start a Review Session
Other users cannot view the materials in a Review package until it’s opened and initiated by the sender host.
For hosts to start a session, open the package from your Inbox.
You will see your user icon on the right side of the Player screen. As other users join, you will see their user icons as well.
Recipients / Participants - Join a Review Session
Go to the Review package in your Inbox and open it.
If the host hasn’t opened the package yet, you’ll see a Waiting for Host screen. When the host joins, it will open.
When joined, you’ll see the icons of everyone in the session on the right side.
The Asset Player will display whatever file the host is viewing, and your watermark will be displayed on the file.
Add Annotations & Feedback Within a Review Session
Point out real-time comments with temporary annotations, using the crayon on the bottom right of your view screen.
Add comments in the commenting field that will be captured and associated with the file for your host to review later.
For detailed instructions about using Sync Review packages, see the CORE Sync Review: How to Collaborate in Real-Time With a Sync Review Package.
Viewing Files: Keyboard Shortcuts
We love a good set of keyboard shortcuts! We’re introducing this and some video playback options to help you better do your work.
Playback Shortcuts
Space Bar button - Play and stop the selected video or audio file
Right Arrow Button - Skip to the next asset
Left Arrow Button - Go to the previous asset
Approval Package - Thumbs Up / Thumbs Down Shortcuts
In a thumbs up/down approval package, with the player active, simply type “A” to approve or “R” to reject.
A - Approve / thumbs up a file
R - Reject / thumbs down a file
Viewing Files: Playback Updates
View 360 Videos in VR Mode
Turn on VR Mode to see your 360 videos in the round.
Pin Timecode During Video Playback
If you need to playback video with timecode always on, you can Pin timecode in the player settings. This will display the timecode on all video content for that session. Note that CORE doesn’t cache this setting beyond the current session.
Choose From Additional Playback Speeds
You now have more speed options for video playback. Select the Speed option, which will open a menu of different speeds from .5x to 4x and -.5x to -4x. Choose the desired playback speed which also includes reverse speed viewing.
Users: Build and Share Your Own User Lists
User lists have been around awhile, but now you can also create lists to share with your team. If you’re more than a view-only user with the ability to share your own files, you can make user lists. To do so, go to Users
Select User Lists at the top
Select the green New User List button to add a new User List
Name the list
Select +, to add your desired recipients
Save List
You can create as many user lists as you need in any combination of users.
Share Your Lists With Your Teams
Now when you create a new User List, you can share it with your teammates.
Create your list then select the Shared tab, next to the Members tab.
Add your team members with whom you want to share your list. They do not need to be members of the User List.
Then Save.
Select image to zoom.
Using Your User Lists
Once you’ve created your user lists, they will appear in the dropdown recipients list when sharing packages. Put your cursor in the Add Recipient field, and the lists will appear first in the dropdown. Below is an example.
For more details about creating and sharing users lists, visit the support article Create, Edit, and Share User Lists.
Admins: User Management Improvements
User Settings Summary
To simplify the complexity of understanding a user’s permissions, we’ve created a new 1-page Summary tab, visible to Admins. This view gives an Admin user a quick reference for all of the settings applied to the person or role. Note, this view is new and has a simplistic design. We intend to improve the layout in the future to further add value to the tab.
CORE Auto-detects & Sets a User’s Time Zone on Login
Wherever a user logs in from when they login, CORE will detect their timezone and set their timezone.
Adjust Logout Time For a User Role or Individual User
Add or ease security parameters for a user or user role, by adjusting the logout time on the Logout time in minutes field
Change Thumbnail Sizes on a User Role to Prevent Screencaps and IP Leaks
If you’re concerned about leaks and users even screen capturing the content on your thumbnails, you can make their thumbnails smaller. Apply this at the user role or user level.
Add a New Production When Creating a User Role
If you’re working quickly and want to avoid switching screens as you build new User Roles, add a new production directly in a User Role. You’ll still need to add your app dashboard thumbnails for the production later in the Production Admin module.
New Feature: LIVE Rooms
Our new LIVE Rooms feature is a mashup of video conferencing plus screen sharing with annotations plus live camera feeds. And all of it is secure, watermarked, and as simple as a package share.
Stream your video village remotely to socially distanced or offsite crew and stakeholders.
Meet with your teams for virtual scouts or creative reviews by streaming Unreal environments, computer screens, or desktop applications like Avid.
Review event rehearsals or give live presentations.
