A common practice is for files to be named according to a standardized naming convention. For instance, an organization might name a file wilderness202.3_day07_pending_toshi effects.mp4 to quickly show its shot sequence, shoot day, approval status, and vendor name respectively.
CORE can parse a naming convention and apply these words directly to file tag fields on ingest. This way, the uploader does not have to categorize these tags manually.
In this article:
First Naming Convention
Check the File
Before processing a files name, a naming convention must be defined and put into the system. In the above example the file name has four phrases separated by an underscore.
These phrases will the field values of particular CORE fields once they are defined by a CORE naming convention.
Files must user either a dash "-", underscore "_", or space " " in between phrases. The example above uses underscores.

1. Click Processing Naming Convention on
2. Click the triple dots and select create new.
This will bring you to a new window. Here, you can fill out a form of which tag fields to be filled in by the parser. Note also this panel has a spacer. Make sure it matches either the underscore, dash, or space as used by your file.
When this is done, the new naming convention will be ready to be used.
Which Tag Fields can be Assigned?
Required Fields and Structural Fields are not recommend at this time. Fields that are used to describe the file itself can still be used. Examples are:

CORE users can also define any tag fields they like. Please see documentation on tag management for more details.
