Downloading a Zip in CORE

CORE enables users to download files using Aspera or through their browser as a Zip file. The recommended option for downloading is Aspera which allows accelerated download speeds. However, you can download a package or file as a Zip, if needed.

This article explains how to download a package or file as a compressed Zip file. Need all instructions for downloading in Core?

In this article, download via Zip with:

Leverage the Transfers Page for Packages Sent for Download

When a package is sent to you for download, it will create a download job in Transfers, which you can select in the left menu:

Find the package you want to download. There are two ways to download as a .zip:

Transfers Page: Download with Details button

  1. Click on "Details"

In the upper-right corner you will see the Zip download button.

Click this button to create a downloadable zip file with all the files in the package.

Once the zip is created, the download of the zip file will begin.

Once the download starts you will see a circular progress bar.

Once it reaches 100%, your zip download is complete.

Go to your computer's Downloads to access it.

Known issue: Sometimes the progress bar will show as 0% until the package is at 100% ready. It is not stuck, just processing. It will show as 100% when the Zip is ready.

The zip file will download to your computer's Downloads.

Note: The folder name will not be the same of the package name. It will be a numeric value that represents the download ID. In the near future this naming convention will be updated.

Download From an Open Package

If you're in a package and want to download, or if you don't see the package listed in your Transfers tab, you can prompt a Zip download from the package.

1. Select the Download icon. If the icon is green, you can find the package in the Transfers tab.

Your Zip will start processing before it downloads.

If this is a large file or there are several files and if watermarks are being generated, it takes some time to ready the zip for download. The next prompt will appear once they are ready.

5. Once the zip is ready, confirm the download.

6. You will find the download in your Downloads folder on your desktop.

NOTES:

When downloading from a package, if you select Download Details before the Zip is ready to download, you'll be redirected to the details page for your download.

The files listed on the page will show as "Ready". You do not need to select download again. They are processing from your package.

Once they're "zipped" you'll receive the same message that the Zip is ready. You can now download the Zip.
